I believe that great TV starts with great people.  I also know that finding the right talent, especially in a way that’s fair, transparent, and truly inclusive, isn’t always easy. Through years of working in talent and recruitment, I’ve seen firsthand the barriers that exist in the industry and how they can limit opportunities for those who don’t fit the traditional mould.

My own journey into the industry was far from conventional. Having dropped out of university at 19, I ended up working as a model on This Morning back when it was filmed at the Albert Dock. Watching the researchers at work, I realised I wanted to be on their side of the camera. I joined a temp agency that supplied staff to Granada TV, and got my first job as a temp production secretary, and that was my way in.

30 years ago, companies like the BBC were completely out of reach to someone without a degree. I didn’t stand a chance. Instead, I had to build my experience first, gaining hands-on knowledge and proving myself before I could even apply for jobs there. Thankfully times have changed but there’s still more work to do to make sure opportunities in TV are truly accessible to everyone. That’s why I’m so passionate about breaking down barriers and ensuring people from all backgrounds have a fair shot at building a career in this industry.

As a mother raising Black children, I’ve seen firsthand the obstacles that exist in workplaces, education, and everyday life. As a cancer survivor and someone with a registered disability, I know what it’s like to navigate an industry that isn’t always designed to accommodate difference. These experiences drive me to push for fairer, more inclusive hiring, because talent shouldn’t have to fight just to be seen.

Outside of work, I’m married with two kids, aged 21 and 16, and a cat called Ziggy who firmly believes he’s in charge.

My Values

  • Inclusion & Equity

I believe that talent comes from everywhere, but opportunity doesn’t always. I’m committed to breaking down barriers in hiring, ensuring fair access to jobs for people from all backgrounds, particularly those who have been historically underrepresented in the TV and content production industry.

  • Authenticity & Integrity

I know firsthand the challenges of navigating an industry that hasn’t always been open to everyone. That’s why I advocate for real, lasting change, not just tick-box diversity. I bring honesty, transparency, and fairness to every recruitment process, making sure the best people get the opportunities they deserve.

  • Talent First

It’s not about who you know, but what you bring to the table. I focus on skills, experience, and potential, ensuring that productions are crewed with the strongest, most capable professionals, whether they’re industry veterans or fresh voices bringing new perspectives.

  • Innovation & Adaptability

The industry is always evolving, and so is the way we find and hire talent. I take a fresh approach to recruitment—challenging outdated practices, thinking creatively, and embracing new ways to connect productions with the right people.

  • People Over Process

Hiring should be efficient, but it should also be human.

I work closely with both clients and candidates to understand their needs, priorities, and ambitions, ensuring the right fit for both sides, not just filling a role for the sake of it.

  • Impact-Driven

For me, recruitment isn’t just about staffing productions; it’s about shaping the future of the industry.

I want to see a TV landscape that is more inclusive, more representative, and more dynamic, and I’m dedicated to making that happen, one hire at a time.
